Dr. Larry Walker

Larry Walker is an accomplished international businessman turned ministry executive. After
starting his career in banking, he became a top executive in a Fortune 500 technology services
firm. There he helped lead the firm’s global financial services division, where he had
responsibility for thousands of staff on four continents, serving clients in over 40 countries.
An international speaker and writer, Larry has always been a champion of change. His
perspective is frequently sought on challenging the status quo that keeps organizations from
achieving their potential – in business and in ministry.

Already active as a church Elder, small group leader, and Sunday School teacher, Larry left his
business career behind to answer a call from the Lord in 2004 to ministry professionally.
Obtaining degrees in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Counseling, he was ordained in the Southern
Baptist Convention. After serving on the staff at two major Dallas (TX) area churches, he
concluded that parachurch ministry was more suitable to his calling from God.

From 2007-2023 Larry worked served as faculty, board member, Board Chairman, and most
recently Executive Director & CEO of Leadership Vistas International Ministries. He has also
served as the Board Chairman of Stand Up for Kids (a ministry to homeless & run-away teens),
Willow Bend Foundation (a ministry to all teens). Finally Larry has served on the board of two
other ministries to pastors, and once wrote an on-line advice column for a Christian media sit.
Larry and his wife, Linda, have been married for 39 years and have fourteen (18) adopted
children (eleven boys and seven girls), and thus far ten grandchildren. After their first two
children were adopted, the Walkers served as foster parents, specializing in “restorative foster
care” – where the children were reunited with birth families after adverse conditions were
resolved (under their supervision). Larry and Linda are strong advocates for foster care and
adoption.
